OVERVIEWEducation Management Solutions (EMS) is a healthcare education platform that integrates curriculum management, simulation training, student assessment, video systems, LMS tools, and performance tracking into a unified ecosystem. The platform supports healthcare institutions by enabling immersive learning experiences across classroom, simulation, and active clinical environments. As the product evolved, EMS required updated web and iPad experiences capable of supporting increasingly complex educational and operational workflows while improving usability for instructors, administrators, and healthcare learners.
CHALLANGERedesigning an EMS that had been used for more than 20 years required balancing a familiar experience with the need for a more modern and intuitive interface. Users were used to the existing system, but complex workflows and disconnected processes made everyday tasks harder to manage. The system also needed to support technical simulation setups, training data, and different workflows across desktop and iPad. My focus was to simplify these workflows while keeping the flexibility and functionality that experienced users relied on.
MY ROLEAs the Lead Product Designer, I led the redesign of both the web and iPad applications. I worked across the full UX/UI process, from understanding user needs and improving workflows to creating the interface and ensuring a consistent experience across both platforms.
OUTCOMEThe redesign improved the overall usability of simulation and administrative tasks, created more consistent UI patterns across desktop and tablet, and established a scalable design foundation for future features and platform growth.
